25 year old male with long-termed well defined erythema on glans penis.
Treated with Miconazolnitrate cream due to suspicion of candida – without treatment effect.
Asymptomatic female partner and no suspicion of venereal diseases.

What is the diagnosis and what treatment should be considered?

Diagnosis
The following diagnoses are considered relevant:
Fixed drug eruption with persisting erythema affection of the mucosa – Requires known medical exposure.
Allergic contact reaction to latex or known application of a local treatment agent.
Psoriasis characterised by persistent well defined affection of the mocosa without desquamation.
Erythroplasia of queyrat (carcinoma in situ).
Treatment
Treatment with topical steroids will reduce and possibly eliminate an allergic contact reaction and psoriasis – however in case of doubts and particularly when malignancy is suspected a biopsy should be performed.
